More Gauteng learners come down with suspected food poisoning

A number of learners from a school in Gauteng have been taken to various health facilities.

The learners, who are from the Mshuluzane Mayisela Primary School in Zithobeni, near Bronkhorstspruit, are suspected to have food poisoning.

They are reported to have eaten some snacks.

In a recent incident in the province, six children died in another suspected food poisoning incident.

Meanwhile, parents of learners at the Marhagi Secondary School in Verena in Mpumalanga are calling on the provincial Education Department to intervene following yet another suspected food poisoning incident involving over 20 learners.

They are urging the Department of Education to inspect the foodstuff sold to learners. SABC News
