More than 2 000 Covid-19 cases recorded

TWO hundred and fourteen more people have tested Covid-19 positive in Zimbabwe, bringing the cumulative total to 2 034.

Of the new 214 cases, 123 were recorded in returnees from South Africa, one from Zambia and 90 cases are from local transmissions.

Covid-19 has so far killed 26 people in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, only 15 of the local cases are contacts of known confirmed cases and 75 are yet to be traced.

“As at 22 July 2020, Zimbabwe had 2034 confirmed cases, including 510 recoveries and 26 deaths. Bulawayo province has the highest cumulative cases at 593 followed by Harare at 579,” read the statement.
