More than five people are feared dead and several others were injured after a commuter omnibus encroached into the lane of a fuel tanker resulting in a head-on collision along the Harare-Bulawayo Road in Kuwadzana.

Disturbing images of the fatal aftermath have been circulating on social media, showing victims lying lifeless at the scene.

When contacted for comment, Harare Provincial Spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the tragic incident but refrained from disclosing the exact number of fatalities.

“Preliminary investigations suggest at least five people have lost their lives,” Inspector Chakanza said. “However, we await an official statement from Commissioner Nyathi, who will provide further details shortly.”
