Yesterday, the Mothers Of Special Heroes (Mosh) All Abilities Choir took to the stage at the Bulawayo City Hall, performing at the Bulawayo Arts Festival (BAF) Gospel Explosion.
The ongoing BAF is a five-day celebration of Bulawayo’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
The talented singers, comprising children with disabilities, opened the show with their inspiring voices. They were part of a spiritually-charged line-up of Snowy, Vocal Ex, Family Voices, Lorraine Maplanka, Women of Valor, and Taboka Nleya directing proceedings.
The choir performed two uplifting songs, their debut single “Themba Lami” and their follow-up single, “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made,” which will be recorded next week, filling the hall with their joyful energy.
This was their second performance in as many months, following their successful show at Sipho Ncube’s arts exhibition last month at the Alliançe de Française in Bulawayo.
Sharing the stage with other notable acts like Vocal Ex and Snowy, the Mosh All Abilities Choir held their own, showcasing their unique talent and passion for music.
Their performance was met with applause and admiration from the audience, who were clearly moved by their spirit and enthusiasm.
Under the tutelage of music coordinator Trevor Mawaka, the choir has been a highway to messages of hope and inclusivity which resonated with the audience, and their talent and dedication left a lasting impression on all who witnessed their performance. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
