EXHIBITORS, delegates and the general public who attending the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo may expect generally favourable weather conditions on Wednesday, although isolated thundershowers are expected in the afternoon

This was revealed by the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) in their forecast for Wednesday, April 22.

They revealed that the day will begin under partly cloudy and cool conditions from 5am to 8am, providing a conducive environment for early morning activities at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre.
Conditions are expected to remain stable into mid-morning, with partly cloudy and mild weather between 8am and 10:30am.

According to the MSD, from late morning to early afternoon, between 10:30am and 1:30pm, Bulawayo will experience warm conditions with partial cloud cover and a slight chance of light rain showers.

However, the department has warned of a shift in weather patterns in the afternoon, with mostly cloudy and warm conditions expected between 1:30pm and 4:30pm, accompanied by isolated thundershowers.

Rainfall is forecast to intensify during this period, which may cause notable disruptions, particularly for outdoor exhibitions and high-traffic areas.

“Rains may cause a bit of disruption,” reads part of the advisory, underscoring the need for exhibitors and visitors to remain alert.

Weather conditions are expected to improve towards the evening, with rain subsiding between 4:30pm and 6:30pm. Partly cloudy and cool conditions will prevail, with only the possibility of an isolated shower, allowing activities to continue with minimal interference.

The MSD has advised members of the public to take proper shelter during periods of lightning and thunder, and to plan their movements with the weather in mind.

This year’s ZITF theme is, “Connected Economies, Competitive Industries.”

ZITF, one of the country’s flagship trade showcases, attracts thousands of exhibitors and visitors, making weather conditions a key factor in ensuring smooth operations as stakeholders engage under this year’s industrialisation-focused theme.
