THE Bulawayo Motoring Club is conducting a drivers’ training class for people who desire to learn how to race at the Victoria Falls circuit tomorrow.
BMC vice chairman Zane Shah said the event is open to the public and is free of charge. “The event is open to everyone who is serious and wishes how to learn professional racing,” said Shah.
The requirements for one to participate in the racing classes are a valid driver’s licence, a roadworthy car and a helmet which is optional as there will be some available for those who do not have.
Shah said that the objective of the racing classes are to refresh and teach both drivers and motorbike riders track ettiquette, safety and flag reading and meanings.
“The main objectives of the driving class lessons are to equip drivers and riders with how to be track compliant, safety and racing flags, sign readings,” said Shah.
Shah said that, in addition to the racing riders and drivers training lessons, there will be training and free practice for the national Peter Parnell Trophy that is going to be held on October 20 at the same venue.
“On that same day there will be drivers that will be training for the upcoming national Peter Parnell Trophy that will be held on October 20,” said Shah.
Training on the day will be for local riders and drivers in the club super bike, ultimate street car challenge and national handicap cars and bikes category.
Shah said that all motor racing enthusiasts should come and have fun, while learning the basics of the sport. “People should come and learn the basics of motor racing and enjoy themselves at the same time,” said Shah.
