Mourinho at Old Trafford

MANCHESTER. — Jose Mourinho could be appointed Manchester United manager in time for their clash with Arsenal.

The pressure has ramped up on Louis van Gaal yet again after another disappointing defeat, this time to relegation-threatened Sunderland.

United lost 2-1 to the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light on Saturday as their top-four hopes took another huge blow.

The Red Devils are now six points behind bitter rivals Manchester City in fourth, with Champions League qualification looking increasingly unlikely.

And according to reports, sacked Chelsea boss Mourinho may replace Van Gaal in time for United’s next league game at home to Arsenal on February 28. — The Daily Express.
