Controversial artiste Jacob Moyana has promised to sample new songs from his upcoming album “Madhiri Nemazheti” this Friday at Mbare Netball complex. The singer will be sharing the stage with heavy hitters Alick Macheso and Jah Prayzah at a gig dubbed “Big Friday Music Extravaganza” hosted by Chipaz Promotions.
“It is unfortunate I can’t give you the playlist since some urban groovers have been using some of my titles for their songs. I will only release the full playlist at the launch of the album,” Moyana said. “For some reason I cannot change the way I compose songs because that’s what made me and fans love me for that. The moment I start singing about ‘Mwari Akanaka’ people will dismiss my music outright. So I would rather continue with I know best,” he said.
According to Moyana the album is almost ready but would only be out toward the festive season.
“You know music is like boxing you don’t just throw punches at your opponent. So I’ve put the album on hold to assess what other musicians are doing. In other words I don’t want to be the first one to release an album once the others release their new music then I will drop a bombshell,” he said.
Moyana promised to put up a great show at the Netball Complex saying so far it has been good since he moved to Harare. Moyana stormed the music scene with the song “Munotidako” and is on record saying that his lyrics are clean and only those with filthy minds will hear vulgar connotations in his songs. Partson Chimbodza of Chipaz Promotions urged fans to come in their numbers and enjoy the music.
