MR and Miss Mufakose body-building contest defending champion Andrew “Ndux” Nyamandi believes he has what it takes to re-write history in today’s show.
The hulk, who won the event last year after beating nine other contestants, said he is ready for the challenge.
“I have been practicing so much and I am feeling healthy than before. It is always good to represent your community and I am geared up for the occasion.
“We are happy as Mufakose community that we have been hosting this contest for the past three years. I give credit to the organising committee who have made sure that the event is coming back again this year,” said Nyamandi.
Modelling contestant Nushel Kareko is confident that she will do well and will use the stage presentation as a precursor to her adventure in Botswana this coming November.
The 17-year-old is hopeful to do well after undergoing some professional catwalks under veteran trainer Marlene Pfende.
“I am confident that I will do well in the modelling category as I have been practicing so hard. I give credit to my mother and granny who have been so supportive on my chosen career.
Eunice Mhindirira is also happy that she will be part of the contest and is hopeful of doing well.
The organising committee patron, Tongai Nheta, said they were happy with the support they had received ahead.
“We managed to revive Mr and Miss Mufakose Body-building and Modelling contest in 2022 through a trust that is seeking to revive both the sport and the Mufakose community gym.
“We are happy as the Mr and Miss Mufakose body-building. Last week we patrolled the streets Mufakose and Budiriro in an anti-drug and substance abuse campaign ahead of this contest, and everything went on well.
“We have managed to secure a few sponsorship deals with companies like LM Pharmacy, Quantum, First Transfer Secretaries and Fayseid Farming Solutions, to name but a few, who will be chipping in both in cash and in kind,” said Nheta.
