Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda is today (Friday) visiting the Gwanda Old People’s Home in Matabeleland South to inspect a series of infrastructure and welfare projects undertaken by the Parliament of Zimbabwe.

The upgrades include the installation of solar geysers and a 5-kilovolt solar power system, the establishment of a medical consultation room, and the extension and renovation of fowl runs at the facility. The improvements also covered repainting of shelter hostels, installation of lighting around the premises and the provision of assorted groceries for elderly residents.

The visit forms part of Parliament’s oversight and community engagement efforts, aimed at improving living conditions for vulnerable groups and assessing the impact of publicly funded development initiatives.
