adminMighty Warriors coach Rosemary Mugadza, who missed last weekend’s 0-1 home defeat to Zambia following the death of her brother on the eve of the match, says it’s time to get on with life. Mugadza rejoined camp on Thursday and while her charges and fellow technical team members took time to pay their condolences, the Mighty Warriors gaffer told The Sunday Mail that she has already shifted her attention to beating the She-polopolo in Lusaka next weekend.
Mugadza reckons that victory over Zambia, which will book Zimbabwe a ticket to the African Women Championships, will be a befitting dedication to her late brother Brian whom she described as a pillar of strength.
“In life we have to move on despite the difficulties we face because God has promised that He will never leave nor forsake us. “I appreciate that my nation needs me at this difficult time so I have had to mourn and bury my brother and quickly shift attention to answering the national call of duty. “It’s never easy losing a loved one but life has to go on…my brother would have wanted me to move as well,” she said.
Mugadza disclosed that she hasn’t watched a recording of the Zambia reverse but has sought to glean as much information as possible from assistant coach Johannes Chikaola. “I am told Zambia never created many chances and that their goal was caused by a blunder on our part.
It’s obvious that we need to convert the chances we create if we are to go to the finals and that is something we are working on.
“The fact that we are playing away puts the pressure on our hosts so we will just go there and play our normal game. “Zambia might have the lead but we are still in it, we just have to believe,” said the former Zimbabwe international defender.
