AMAZULU caretaker coach Wilfred “Silver Fox” Mugeyi has expressed disappointment over their loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday. He believes they could at the least have got a point from the match but an injury time goal put paid to that.

The former Warriors striker said his team lost concentration towards the end with the match balanced at 1-1 after they had led through Bongani Ndulula’s goal before man of the match George Lebese’s two goals destroyed their hopes of getting maximum points.

Mugeyi told Chronicle Sport: “Obviously I’m disappointed about my boys who lacked concentration and gave away that stupid goal which robbed us a point.

“Overall the boys played a fantastic game. It’s only that football can be cruel especially on us who ended on the losing side after a first half lead.”

Former Warriors goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini was in goals for AmaZulu.

Mugeyi is happy that his players have started to play flowing and entertaining football.

He remains optimistic that they can move away from the relegation zone.

AmaZulu are bottom of the table. Pretoria University’s Partson Jaure was excited after his team walloped Milton Ncube’s Ajax Cape Town 3-0 on Wednesday night and hopes the team will continue collecting maximum points.

PSL results: AmaZulu 1-2 Chiefs, Free State 2-5 Polokwane, Swallows 0-1 SuperSport, Maritzburg 0-0 Celtic, Sundowns 0-0 Aces, Chippa 2-1 Wits, AmaTuks 3-0 Ajax.
