CAPS United key players Dominic Mukandi and Stephen Makatuka have quit the club.
Coach Mark Harrison said the decision by the two players hit him like a bullet in the back as their departure comes just a week after Rodreck Mutuma turned his back at the Harare giants.
CAPS United are going through a very difficult phase.
The situation has not been made easy by their poor financial situation with some creditors calling for the liquidation of the club.
Makatuka and Mukandi are part of a group of seven players who were awarded $59 000 by an independent arbitrator last month.
Utility player Mukandi was awarded $13 200 while Makatuka was awarded $9 200 in the labour case.
The duo’s exit was always coming as they had tried unsuccessfully earlier in the year to press for clearances to leave the club.
Makatuka and Mukandi were at the club’s training ground yesterday but left early as they did not participate in the proceedings.
Harrison said he had tried his best, under the conditions, but the situation was now going beyond control.
“We are stumbling along. I have learnt Dominic and Stephen are leaving the club. They have just offered their resignation letters. So that means three senior players have left,” said Harrison.
“I am out of motivation. I have got nothing left in the tank either. It’s difficult.
“I am finding it tough now. We need support from above. I can only do so much. It’s not an easy scenario we are in. I keep saying it and it’s getting tougher.
“The situation isn’t improving. Something needs to turn and turn rapid. I think the whole scenario now is taking its toll on everybody. I think everybody is getting tired.
“We have kept it alive until now and I think the last couple of weeks have really started eating away at individuals.”
