IT is now confirmed Warriors vice-captain Marshall Munetsi and Italy-based fullback Jordan Zemura will not take part in the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco after the pair was left out of the 28-man squad announced by coach Marian Mario Marinica.

Munetsi, who was reported injured by his English Premiership club Wolverhampton Wanderers, had hinted that he would be fit for the tournament.

However, Marinica would not take the risk. The coach made some brave decisions which also sees some of the key members of the qualifying campaign like Zemura, who was injured on Monday during a Serie-A match, and Walter Musona missing out due to knocks.

Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is set to lead the side during the campaign. Veteran Knowledge Musona, Divine Lunga, Emmanuel Jalai and Godknows Murwira have kept their places.

Among the surprise picks is Alec Mudimu, Ishmael Wadi, Washington Navaya, Junior Zindoga and Scottland teenage sensation Tadiwa Chakuchichi.
