Zimbabwe’s business community is set to turn its attention to an evening dedicated to celebrating achievement, recognising outstanding performance and honouring the individuals and organisations making a meaningful contribution to the country’s economic and professional landscape.
The Southern Africa CEO Forum (SACF), a regional organisation committed to advancing business leadership, promoting professional excellence and fostering collaboration among business leaders and institutions across Southern Africa, will host the 2026 Excellence Awards (Zimbabwe) on Friday, 11 December 2026, at Golden Conifer in Harare.
The awards will bring together business executives, company directors and industry leaders for an evening dedicated to recognising companies, organisations and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation, leadership and professionalism throughout 2026.
As Zimbabwe continues to pursue its economic development and transformation aspirations, the role of businesses and professional leaders in driving growth, innovation and sustainable development remains vital. Recognising excellence provides an opportunity to celebrate organisations and individuals who are making meaningful contributions to this progress. Beyond profitability and market position, true excellence is reflected in visionary leadership, high professional standards, innovation, value creation and a commitment to positively impacting communities and the nation at large.
A defining feature of the awards is their broad recognition of excellence across different industries. Rather than limiting recognition to a handful of prominent corporate sectors, the awards embrace a diverse range of business activities, professions and areas of specialisation. This includes established companies, emerging enterprises, professional service providers and individuals whose work contributes to the growth and development of their respective industries.
From construction and manufacturing to education, security, professional services, retail and other sectors, the awards seek to acknowledge excellence wherever it exists.
Importantly, the initiative also seeks to recognise the often-overlooked contributors to Zimbabwe’s economic and professional development. Behind many successful industries are individuals and organisations whose work may not always attract headlines but whose dedication, expertise and commitment make a substantial difference. These are the unsung heroes whose contributions deserve greater visibility and appreciation.
By creating a platform for such recognition, the Southern Africa CEO Forum hopes to reinforce the message that excellence is not the preserve of large corporations or well-known personalities. It is demonstrated by businesses of different sizes, professionals in different fields and individuals who consistently go beyond expectations in their work.
The selection process will incorporate a combination of nominations, research and evaluation, with the objective of identifying deserving recipients based on their demonstrated achievements and contributions during the year. This approach is intended to ensure that recognition extends beyond visibility and reputation, placing emphasis on actual performance and the standards individuals and organisations have maintained.
Beyond the presentation of awards, the event is also expected to provide an important networking opportunity for Zimbabwe’s business community. Business executives, company directors and industry leaders will have an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, establish new relationships and explore opportunities for collaboration.
In an economy where partnerships, knowledge-sharing and professional networks increasingly influence business growth, such interactions provide value beyond the occasion itself. The gathering is expected to bring together individuals and organisations from different sectors, creating an environment in which connections can be established and conversations that contribute to business development can begin.
For the Southern Africa CEO Forum, the broader vision extends beyond celebrating those who have already achieved success. It is about encouraging more businesses and professionals to pursue higher standards, embrace innovation, strengthen leadership and remain committed to delivering value.
The 2026 Excellence Awards therefore represent an opportunity to celebrate not only what Zimbabwe’s businesses and professionals have accomplished, but also the possibilities that lie ahead when excellence becomes an aspiration shared across industries.
