THE race for glory in the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) Munhumutapa Challenge Cup continues this weekend with the second round of action set to deliver another dose of exciting football as Southern Region Soccer League clubs battle for a place in the next stage of the prestigious competition.
Football lovers are bracing for a thrilling weekend as eight teams go head-to-head in four mouth-watering encounters spread across Bulawayo and surrounding areas.
The competition, which has provided a platform for clubs to showcase their talent and compete for honours, enters a crucial phase where mistakes could prove costly.
Saturday’s action will see Jordan welcome Destiny Stars at White City Stadium in a 3pm kick-off, with both sides expected to approach the encounter with attacking intent.
At Mucheke Stadium, Lowveld will host Blackrock at the same time in what promises to be a closely contested battle.
The excitement continues on Sunday when Mawabeni face Aqua Stars at Luveve Stadium, while Hwange will entertain Greenfuel in the coal mining town in another eagerly awaited clash.
