ALL roads lead to Gresham Grounds in Zvishavane tonight for the Munhumutapa Gala.
The gala, which coincides with President Mnangagwa’s birthday, will parade an array of stars, who include Suluman Chimbetu, Mark Ngwazi, Chief Hwenje, Peter Moyo, Sandra Ndebele, Jah Promo, Andy Muridzo, Dorcas Moyo, Enzo Ishall, Pumacol, Pastor Charles Charamba and wife Olivia, among others. Botswana’s finest entertainer Vee Mampeezy, is set to grace the event.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Zanu PF Director for Information and Publicity, Farai Marapira, confirmed the event developments, stating that the gala was meant to celebrate the achievements Zimbabwe has made under the astute leadership of the President.
“The day is special since we celebrate Zimbabwe, especially the achievements that have been made in many areas, including in mining, by President Mnangagwa.
“It is a special day for us as a nation because it means a lot in terms of the achievements that we have made, especially in some of the areas of trade,” he stressed.
Marapira urged Zimbabweans to turn out in their numbers to celebrate the country’s uniqueness.
Judging by the line-up, fun is guaranteed at the event.
Sulu, who was mentored by his late father Simon “Chopper” Chimbetu, is optimistic.
Chopper was a revolutionary who was given provincial status in 2005 and his remains were interred at Chinhoyi Provincial Heroes Acre.
As for Chief Hwenje, real name Admire Sanyanga Sibanda, he has been afforded yet another chance to show the world what he is made of.
The first family of gospel music, Pastor Charles Charamba and his wife Olivia’s presence is critical since he is expected to bless the event with heavenly harmonies.
Who knows, they might use the opportunity to market their anticipated album which they announced will be released next month.
Sungura lovers should look forward to Ngwazi, who never disappoints.
The same can be said of Zimdancehall fans who should expect great entertainment from Enzo and Pumacol.
The youthful entertainers’ inclusion means a lot since the country’s hope for success is upon the young people’s shoulders.
