Mupfumira warrants of arrest cancelled

Harare regional magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje today cancelled two warrants of arrest that were issued against former Cabinet Minister Prisca Mupfumira during the period of her travel to South Africa on Parliament business.

Mupfumira returned in the country on today.

A warrant of arrest was issued in a matter in which she is jointly charged with former Public Service Commission permanent secretary Ngoni Masoka on allegations involving a vehicle loan obtained from NSSA and airtickets allegedly bought for her relatives to travel to South Africa.

Another warrant of arrest was issued in a matter in which she was jointly charged with Barnabas Matongera over Gweru low cost housing scheme.

The State led by Mrs Tinashe Makiya did not oppose to the application for cancellation of the warrants.

Mr Admire Rubaya appeared for Mupfumira.
