This is one of the seasons ZPC Kariba would want to quickly forget if they are to survive relegation.
It was one of the seasons that literally stretched them beyond their imagination.
Just like other handful clubs they found themselves adopting a home ground in Harare despite being based in Kariba.
They were able to relocate back to their favourite hunting ground, Nyamhunga halfway through the season.
The club started with coach Darlington Dodo leading the ship before he jumped out to join Rodwell Dhlakama in Chisumbanje at Greenfuel for better fortunes leaving Newsome Mtema on an interim basis before Luke Masomere took charge of the team.
After playing a two-all-draw with Sheasham on Saturday Kariba are now focusing on winning their remaining matches against Simba Bhora and already relegated army side Cranborne Bullets.
Forward Leeroy Murape is confident that the team will do the job against Simba and Cranborne Bullets.
Murape played a critical role in their match against Sheasham and was involved in their first goal as he assisted Moses Demera.
“Sheasham was a game that was close which I believe we showed character to manage to come up with a point as it was a difficult match in many ways,” he said.
“But now we are just focusing on the remaining two games which we believe if we manage to move past the 40-point mark will be able to survive.
“We are quite sure as a team that we will do the job as we have the character and ability to make it happen.
“This was one long season for us and surviving will mean a lot for the people of Kariba and us the fans as well.
“For the fans, it will mean a lot for them to witness top-flight football week in and week out in Kariba, and we would want to ensure that the status quo is preserved and working to the fullest.
“I am confident we will excel,” he said.
