A Beitbridge man has been arrested for allegedly killing his nephew with a single blow to the head using an empty beer bottle.
The killer’s surname, Wurayai, ironically means “kill him” in Shona.
According to police, the victim sustained a deep cut on the head and was first rushed to Beitbridge Hospital, before being transferred to Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
ZRP confirmed the arrest in a post on X:
“On 24-07-25, Police in Beitbridge arrested Ishmael Wurayai (21) in connection with a murder case in which he allegedly struck his nephew, Albert Wurayai (25), once on the head with an empty beer bottle.”
