Muripo leaves for India tomorrow

TOP Zimbabwean karateka Samson Muripo is expected to leave for India tomorrow for the Kyokushin International Training Camp currently underway in Kolkata, India, where he is hoping to be graded to fifth dan during the technical dan promotion.

The camp began yesterday and the technical dan promotion is on Tuesday.

The camp is being led by some of the world’s karate legends including Hanshi Oishi Daigo, who is the IKO World So-Kyokushin president.

Hanshi Daigo was in Zimbabwe, in July, for the first So-Kyokushin international tournament held in Chitungwiza.

And he will conduct the technical dan promotion on Tuesday.

Muripo, who is flying to India from Johannesburg where he has been training, confirmed his participation.

“Kyokushin karate technical dan promotion is a very hard process. Nevertheless, I have to do it for a lot of people who look up to me. ”
