Mushoriwa lands First Capital MD post

BANKING expert, Mr Tapera Mushoriwa, has been appointed substantive managing director for the First Capital Bank Zimbabwe.

Boasting extensive banking experience including internationally, he will take over from Mr Ciaran McSharry, who has been with the bank since 2018 and is due to leave the giant financial services institution in September.

“The board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tapera Mushoriwa as managing director of First Capital Bank Zimbabwe,” said First Capital in a public notice yesterday.

“Tapera has extensive banking experience, including international, and joins us from NBS Bank where his role is managing director.

“Prior to his role, Tapera worked for Cassava Fintech International, Steward Bank, and Standard Chartered in various senior leadership positions.”

Mr Mushoriwa is a holder of a Master of Business Administration from the University of Gloucestershire and a Bachelor of Sciences (BSc) Honours in Computer Science from the Midlands State University.

“The board would like to express its sincere appreciation to Ciaran for his leadership and contributions to over the past five years.

The bank is now better positioned for success as a result of the improvement he made to the business’ strategy, structure, and culture,” said the bank.

“To ensure a smooth transition of leadership, Cairan has offered to support the bank through to the end of September.”
