WHILE some fear that Artificial Intelligence (AI) reduces originality, Norton-based musician, Bertha Sibiya Masokovere, has embraced it.
The musician, who is also known as NAINA7, says the inclusion of AI in the music industry is a welcome development.
She says it is part of innovation and creativity. The 39-year-old singer and songwriter said her sound is an expressive fusion of Afro pop, Hip hop, Amapiano and gospel, shaped by faith and feeling.
With AI, she feels, that’s the direction every artist should take.
NAINA7 argues that AI is simply a new instrument.
“Singing used to mean studios, mics, producers, years of training.
“With AI, I can go straight from the melody in my head to a finished vocal. The barrier between ‘what if’ and ‘listen to this’ disappeared.
“That’s freedom and AI has helped lay down 20 harmony ideas in minutes so a human artist can pick, tweak and make it emotional.
“It basically handles the drafts and I add the soul.
“Yes, I released songs on YouTube, ‘Tea Isina Sugar’, ‘Juvhe’, and ‘Rudo Rwunotapira’, which are on my YouTube,” she said.
She added:“Each song carries energy, soul, and purpose.
“It has the grooves that make listeners move as it has lyrics that speak to real life and quiet moments that hold everyone’s story.
“My music celebrates and ministers where rhythm meets faith and listeners find comfort, courage and joy.
“As an AI artist, I blend human emotion with cutting edge creative tools to expand how stories are told and felt.
“I aim to inspire with honesty, uplift with hope and create songs that connect deeply and keep people dancing.”
