Musician pastor on drive to keep needy children warm

arrives.
The campaign is supposed to raise 1 000 pairs of new school shoes and 1 000 school jerseys.
According to APM secretary, Faith Chikukwa, this scriptural act is emphasised in James 1:27, which reads: “religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress . . . .”
She added that apostle Chivaviro said he received the vision with the instruction to do as the scripture says twice.
The pastor said he was instructed to source these items and distribute them to 1 000 kids in five Southern African countries. He then chose South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.
Chikukwa said the apostle was shown masses of underprivileged kids who were walking barefooted to school for long distances and shivering almost to death due to cold, yet they have to struggle on because less organisations are taking steps to assist along those lines.
She said apostle Chivaviro said this as he unveiled his vision to one of his congregations in Germiston on Sunday.
Chikukwa said the apostle was scared when he received the vision for the first time thinking it was a “mission impossible”. However, when he got it for the second time he got confident that it could be done.
She said the spirit behind their confidence was knowledge that when God gives a vision he also makes a provision.
APM has branches in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana and Zambia. The church has also decided to partner the man of god in making this vision a reality and is seeking more individual and organisational partners to accomplish this.
“We are setting up collection points for those who wish to buy and donate and a social responsibility account has been created for those who wish to make cash donations,” said.
Chikukwa said the apostle is also working with volunteer organisations in the countries where the donations will be made.
“The donations will be handed over in stages, country by country, each time we get 200 sets,” she said.
Besides contributing the first set of uniforms on Sunday, apostle Chivaviro, who has eight gospel albums under his belt and has authored two books, will channel all proceeds from all his productions and books between now and end of April towards this cause.
Chikukwa said a facebook group has been created to make many people aware and as a facility to channel all questions from individuals and groups who wish to assist.
The page is called 1000 Shoes & 1000 Jerseys to Orphans by Winter 2012 with Apostle Toggy.
