Afro jazz musician Prince Musarurwa will embark on his maiden tour of the East Africa on June 15.
He is expected to hold a number of shows in Uganda and collaborate with an artiste from that country.
Prince who is famously known for the duet “Runonzi Rudo” that he did with Pah Chihera believes the tour will establish him internationally.
“I am excited about touring Uganda for the first time and I am ready for the show and hopefully I will steal their hearts and they will acknowledge that Zimbabwe has great artistes,” he said.
Prince will share the stage with the gospel songbird Daisy Ejang.
She was the second runner up at the East Africa idols “Tusker Project Fame Season 6” and will unveil her album on June 21.
Prince will collaborate with her on two tracks they will record there during his two-week stay in Uganda.
“We are going to record two tracks together which would mix Shona and Swahili.
One will be an Afro pop and the other will be a jazz song,” he said.
The 25-year–old narrates his story of how they got to know the each other.
“It is very interesting how I got to know about Daisy.
Her managers in Uganda discovered my music on the internet and they communicated with my manger.
“When they heard my music they decided that I perform and record with their diva,” he said.
Prince will last interact with his local fans at his farewell show to be held at the Book Café on June 14.
After his return he will start preparing for the UK tour that would see him perform with contemporary musician Jah Prayzah and Thomas Mapfumo in July.
Prince is grandson to yesteryear local great musician Augustine Musarurwa of the “Skokiaan” hit fame.
Prince is well known for the six-track album titled “Gara Muberevere” of 2012 which is loaded with scintillating afro-jazz songs.
It carries tracks such as “Mamoyo”, “Gara Muburuvere” and “Uri Mharadzi”.
Prince says he is also working on new musical projects which will see him collaborate with a host of local and international acts
