Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara could make changes to his MDC party’s Cabinet line-up with his three ministers possibly being recalled from the inclusive Government.
Those likely to be affected are Professor Welshman Ncube (Industry and Commerce), Mr David Coltart (Education, Sport, Arts and Culture) and Ms Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga (Regional Integration and International Co-operation).
Such an announcement will be the la-test twist in the internecine strife bedevilling the party.
Last week, both DPM Mutambara and Prof Ncube announced they had expelled each other from the party.
A party congress in January elected Prof Ncube MDC president but this has since been challenged in the High Court.
Prof Ncube’s leadership has also said it has recalled DPM Mutambara from his Government post.
According to ZBC News last night, sources from both camps said DPM Mutambara was likely to make his move this week. ZBC news said legal experts had said DPM Mutambara has the power to make the changes.
Former deputy organising secretary, Mr Morgan Changamire also said DPM Mutambara had the right make such changes.
Prof Ncube’s deputy spokesperson, Mr Kurauone Chihwayi, told ZBC News that DPM Mutambara had no legal mandate to reshuffle executive State posts. — ZBC News-Herald Reporter.
