Mutare man caught helping Asian’s illegal entry into Zimbabwe

A MUTARE man (42) was fined US$400 or 120 days in prison for helping an Asian to illegally enter Zimbabwe.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe in a statement on X, said “Nhamo Mabasa aged 42 appeared before the Mutare Magistrates’ Court on charges of contravening the Immigration Act in that he unlawfully assisted a Myanmar national to gain entry into Zimbabwe.
“The State proved that on the 21st of July 2024, the accused person unlawfully assisted Aike See, a Myanmar national to cross into Zimbabwe from Mozambique, without presenting his passport to immigration authorities. The matter came to light the following day when the accused person was intercepted at Forbes Border Post attempting to assist Aike See to cross back into Mozambique, leading to his arrest.”
