IT’S all systems go at Madziro Leisure Centre tomorrow as the second edition of the Men2Men Indaba roars into life, promising a unique blend of dialogue, entertainment, networking and family fun.
Organised by Zimpapers Mutare stable — The Manica Post and Diamond FM — the event is expected to draw participants from across Manicaland for what organisers describe as a day of meaningful conversations, empowerment and relaxation.
Building on the momentum of last year’s successful inaugural edition, this year’s gathering has been expanded to offer a more interactive experience, with organisers assuring attendees there will be something for everyone.
While the focus remains on issues affecting men, the event is open to women as well, with organisers encouraging them to attend and participate actively in discussions.
The Men2Men Indaba was conceived as a platform to address challenges men often face in silence, including mental health struggles, financial pressures, lifestyle diseases and relationship issues.
Tomorrow’s programme will bring together experts from various sectors to unpack topics ranging from mental wellness and stress management to sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, financial literacy and personal development.
Participants will engage directly with health practitioners, counsellors, financial experts and motivational speakers in a relaxed environment designed to encourage openness and honest dialogue.
Organisers say the event seeks to break long-standing stigmas that discourage men from seeking help and create a culture where conversations around wellbeing are normalised.
From thought-provoking discussions and health services to music, football, networking and family fun, the venue, organisers said, is set to become the meeting point for dialogue, empowerment and entertainment tomorrow.
Beyond the discussions, attendees can look forward to a vibrant social atmosphere, complete with entertainment, networking opportunities, refreshments and a braai.
Music lovers are in for a treat as a host of Diamond FM DJs and presenters will be on rotation throughout the day, keeping energy levels high between discussion sessions.
Adding to the entertainment line-up will be popular resident Madziro Leisure Centre DJs, including DJ Candyman, who will join Diamond FM personalities DJs Chayamaningi and Lampy in creating a lively atmosphere.
With music, interaction and funfair planned throughout the event, organisers are confident participants will leave both informed and entertained.
Football enthusiasts have not been forgotten either.
A World Cup watch party has been incorporated into the programme, giving sports fans an opportunity to follow the action while networking and sharing experiences with fellow attendees.
One of the key attractions of this year’s event is its family-friendly approach.
Recognising that many parents struggle to find childcare while attending such gatherings, organisers have arranged for children to be accommodated at the venue’s play centre.
This means fathers and mothers can participate fully in discussions and networking sessions, knowing their children are being entertained in a safe and enjoyable environment nearby.
The family-centred approach reflects the broader vision of the Men2Men Indaba — strengthening families and communities by encouraging healthier conversations and stronger support systems.
Organisers say the event is not solely about addressing challenges but also celebrating positive masculinity, responsible fatherhood and personal growth.
Health and wellness will take centre stage, with health professionals expected to offer health checks and practical advice on maintaining healthy lifestyles.
Counselling services will also be available for those seeking guidance on personal, emotional or family-related matters.
Financial literacy remains another major focus area.
Experts will lead discussions on budgeting, saving, investing and responsible financial management, equipping participants with practical skills to navigate an increasingly demanding economic environment.
Sexual health and wellness discussions are also expected to feature prominently, providing participants with access to professional information and guidance in a respectful setting.
Networking opportunities will allow businesspeople, entrepreneurs, professionals and community leaders to connect, exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.
Exhibitors will showcase products and services, adding a business dimension to the gathering.
Importantly, organisers have moved to allay concerns over potential power disruptions that have become common in some areas.
Madziro Leisure Centre has a solar-powered backup system in place, ensuring uninterrupted proceedings throughout the day.
As anticipation builds, organisers are urging members of the public to come dressed in denim and be part of what promises to be an engaging and memorable day.
