Mutsvangwa dismisses Moyo’s Twitter comments

Herald Reporter

Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) chairman Cde Chris Mutsvangwa has criticised former minister Professor Jonathan Moyo for misleading the public by creating a Twitter account and posting false messages in his name.

Last night, Cde Mutsvangwa told The Herald that he has never opened a Twitter account and was surprised that his detractors continued to post false information in his name.

This followed tweets suggesting that Cde Mutsvangwa and some war veterans were unhappy that deposed MDC-Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa does not have State security, resulting in him being allegedly prevented from addressing political meetings in Masvingo and Mutare.

Said Cde Mutsvangwa: “Jonathan Moyo imposting as usual. I attacked the Old Mutual Exchange Traded Fund (on ZBC programme last week), the lynchpin of monetary instability and galloping inflation.

“(The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange) ZSE is spawning inflation and want to shift the blame on the RBZ Governor (Dr John Mangudya).”

Cde Mutsvangwa said the Old Mutual Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) had become the indispensable financial weapon of monetary terrorism against Zimbabwe. He said Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube should not allow the “fancy ETF derivative”.

“Jonathan Moyo thought no one would notice and pick it out,” he said. “I did and exposed the Old Mutual Exchange Traded Fund in a ZTV interview. Jonathan Moyo was miffed, hence the counter-attack through a fake Twitter account. He hates my topicality.”

This is the umpteenth time that Cde Mutsvangwa has disowned the twitter handle @cmutsvangwa1, which is used to transmit the falsehoods.
