JUAN Mutudza is finally set to make his official return to football Tuesday, eight months after his last competitive match.

He will debut for Polokwane City as they host Amazulu in a Nedbank Cup clash.

After switching from CAPS United to Black Leopards, he was unable to play as the club could not register him due to a FIFA transfer ban it was serving.

This complication prompted his management team to negotiate a move to the Betway Premiership side Polokwane City, where Mutudza has now signed a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Adding intrigue to his debut, Mutudza will face off against fellow countryman Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya of Amazulu. The two were previously teammates at Zvishavane-based FC Platinum.

Mutudza’s manager, Denzel Manyani of DM Sports Agency, confirmed the development.

“Juan is set to make his debut today after eight months of inactivity,” said Manyani.

“When he switched from CAPS United to join Black Leopards, he couldn’t be registered as the club was under a ban. We were not aware of that at the time of the transfer.”

He explained that the situation led to engagements with stakeholders, which ultimately facilitated the move to Polokwane City.

“We are hoping that he will be able to show his talent at the club and shine again,” said Manyani. “

We are expecting that he will have another Warriors call-up, and I believe it’s the best time for him to adjust.”

Manyani acknowledged the setback at Black Leopards as unfortunate but defended his agency’s record.

“What happened with Juan was unfortunate, but through our network, we were quick to rectify that.

“We manage players across the globe. Currently, we have players from Ghana, Congo, Senegal, and England within our ranks, and have successfully done so for the last five years.”
