BLESSING Muzarabani’s third Test five-for helped Zimbabwe bowl out Bangladesh for 255 runs in the second innings of the first Test match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
The lanky fast bowler spearheaded the Chevrons’ bowling attack, finishing with figures of 6/72 in 20.2 overs. He also reached 50 Test wickets.
Zimbabwe now need 174 runs to win the Test match.
Should they pull it off, this will be Zimbabwe’s most successful run chase in Test cricket, as they have never chased more than 161 to win a game.
Day four began with the Tigers on 194/4 with a lead of 112 runs.
There was a delayed start to the day’s action due to a wet outfield caused by overnight rain.
Zimbabwean bowlers, led by Muzarabani, managed to navigate the session without any hassles to wrap up the innings.
Wellington Masakadza picked up two wickets while Richard Ngarava and Victor Nyauchi picked up one apiece.
Najmul Hosain Shanto scored for the hosts, too, with 60 runs off 105 balls.
At the lunch break, the Chevrons were on 4/0, needing 170 more runs to win.
