MWOS FC have suffered a major setback ahead of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash against a resurgent Highlanders at Ngoni Stadium in Norton this afternoon, with head coach Lloyd Mutasa set to miss the encounter following the death of his sister.
Mutasa, affectionately known as “Samaita“, is attending his sister’s burial in Mutoko, Mashonaland East Province, after she passed away earlier this week.
“It is true, coach Mutasa won’t be available in today’s match due to a family bereavement. During his compassionate leave, assistant coach Joseph Tangaringofa will take charge of the team,” said a source close to the Norton-based club.
The absence of Mutasa comes at a crucial time for MWOS as they prepare to face an improving Highlanders side eager to end an unwanted run against the league newcomers.
Bosso head into the match having failed to beat MWOS in their last three meetings. More worrying for the Bulawayo giants is that they are yet to score a goal against their opponents, adding extra significance to this afternoon’s encounter.
With Highlanders seeking to break the hoodoo and MWOS aiming to maintain their dominance despite the absence of their head coach, all is set for an intriguing contest at Ngoni Stadium.
