TALENTED afro-pop, house and Amapiano muso Mzoe 7 says the year 2021 will see him release more videos and drop his much-anticipated debut album in order to increase his visibility in the music scene.
His debut album, United Country Africa was meant to be released last year but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he had to shelve his plans.
Having ventured into the music business over seven years ago, Mzoe 7 (real name Mzoebanzi Paul Mlauzi) has over 15 singles including Asambeni, which he released last year,.
Having put him on the map as it had picturesque visuals. Due to the success of Asambeni, Mzoe 7 has decided to work on more of them in order to promote his brand.
He said there are are lot of visuals he had planned to work on last year, but they were all put on hold due to the lockdown.
“This year, all hope is not lost as I’m hoping to start working on my visuals as soon as the lockdown is over.
For now, it’s hard to plan especially since online events and recordings have also been put on hold.
“Covid-19 has surely brought doom to the arts sector and the only thing we can do now is to keep safe and also create awareness about the pandemic.”
To ensure that this year does not go down the drain like last year, Mzoe 7 said he is starting the year with a the release of a single, Enhlizweni Yami by DJ Prince Eskhosini which he featured on. Also among his plans for the year is penetration into the continent.
“I want to brand more this year by expanding to the whole of Africa.
I’ll also be working with people like award-winning La Dee, Skaiva, the Conga Brothers and DJ Prince Eskhosini.”
Other than focusing on music, Mzoe 7 said fans will see more of creative directing and scriptwriting from him under Keaitse Films.
“Since we’re under lockdown, I’m focusing more on writing, especially scripts, updating the drawing board for the year and trying to keep fellow Africans entertained and updated from the comfort of my home,” he said. – @mthabisi_mthire
