KWAITO and Amapiano artiste Mzoe 7, has dedicated his recent award win at the Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAAs) to his loyal fans, stating that the accolade belongs to them as they played a major role in shaping his brand.

Mzoe 7 clinched the Outstanding Male Artiste award for the second consecutive year. He was nominated alongside other talented creatives from the City of Kings, including Zim Dancehall’s Ma9nine, Imali Yesigweja hitmaker Fab G, and celebrated Tshibilika musician, Mxolisi “Mr Bones” Ndlovu.

To celebrate the accolade, the Asambeni hitmaker toured various townships, posing with fans as they held the trophy — a gesture that underscored his respect and appreciation for those who have trusted and supported his music. Mzoe 7 was also spotted with the award at the Bulawayo Shutdown party, where more fans and fellow creatives had the opportunity to hold the gong and celebrate alongside Mr Gagagugu.

The musician described it as a privilege to be crowned Outstanding Male Artiste, noting that the recognition has inspired him to work even harder. He dedicated the gong to his loyal fans for pushing him to greater heights.

“It’s the second time I’ve won this award in a row, and I truly appreciate such recognition, as it shows I did something meaningful this year. This award is nicknamed i award labantu (the people’s award) because it is the very same people who have supported me and made me who I am.

“The gong is also dedicated to everyone who has a dream, or those who are slowly giving up on theirs. With me, winning this accolade, it’s a sign that anything is possible and that it is never too late to achieve your dreams. I encourage young people to never give up and to pick themselves up when they fall, for there is light at the end of the tunnel,” said Mzoe 7.

He added that hard work, passion and dedication were the key factors that propelled him to excel, ultimately making him a favourite in the star-studded category.

Among his notable gigs in 2025, Mzoe 7 hosted a one-man show dubbed I Am Who I Am, in October — an event that redefined him within the arts scene. The theatrical concert, directed by Saimon Mambazo Phiri as part of the 50 Dates at The Theatre initiative, blended music, dance and drama.

“Besides the one-man show, I put in a lot of work from February throughout the year, as I was consistently booked for numerous events, including TV and radio shows, choreography projects and social work. I have been doing remarkable work across Zimbabwe and beyond the continent.

“Branding is also something I have been mastering, hence many corporates found it worthwhile to work with me. Being able to position myself on the market and present my craft as something worth associating with, I believe, also made me the best male creative in Bulawayo,” he said.

As the year draws to a close, Mzoe 7 revealed that he has a lot lined up for his fans and hinted at reviving Majita Let’s Talk, an initiative that provides a platform for men to open up about life challenges, including suicidal thoughts.
