Versatile Zimbabwean musician Mzoe 7 has called on creatives across the SADC region to unite and support one another’s projects as a pathway to building a stronger and more sustainable creative sector.
The award-winning artiste was part of a vibrant delegation of Zimbabwean creatives who recently travelled to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the DJ Mapressa Glam and Fashion Show held over the weekend.
Among those who joined him were Jaycee Rappadict, Zinjaziyamluma, Lifestylez Inc, Roselyn Musekiwa, Miss Aura, and the Imbesu Foundation.

Speaking from South Africa, Mzoe 7 emphasised the importance of collaboration and collective support in the creative industry, particularly within the regional arts sector.
“If we as artistes stand together and actively support each other’s events, I believe our fans and followers will follow suit. Unity attracts attention, even from corporates, and gives our sector a fighting chance at sustainability,” said Mzoe 7.
He added that the DJ Mapressa event was more than just a show, describing it as a melting pot for diaspora-based Zimbabwean creatives and an ideal platform to celebrate Zimbabwean culture, fashion, tourism, and entrepreneurship.
“The experience was enriching. I learnt a lot and had the opportunity to network with other creatives based in South Africa. This kind of event not only connects us but also promotes cultural exchange and opens doors for future collaborations,” he added.
As the region continues to seek innovative ways to boost its cultural and creative industries, Mzoe 7’s message is a timely reminder of the power of solidarity among artistes. – Follow Mthabisi Tshuma on X: @mthabisi_mthire
