Mzoe7 ready to return to the stage

VERSATILE artist Mzoe7 has said he is ready to return to the stage following the death of his father last month.

He mentioned this after putting on an outstanding performance at the Sanganai/Hlanganani Music Festival last weekend, where he hauled out three separate acts with Sandra Ndebele, Msiz’kay, and Djembe Monks despite not being on the lineup.

Recently, the musician had withdrawn himself from the stage after the death of his father.

He failed to participate at the Fill Up Phelandaba Stadium show in Gwanda, where he was on the lineup alongside South African singer Professor.

Mzoe7 said constant support from fellow artistes and the performances at the expo gave him hope and reenergised him.

“It’s not like the performances I did at the Sanganai Expo were planned, but the love and encouragement I received from the artistes gave me hope that I could still do this. It was all pure love. Of course, Sandra’s was planned. Sandra is one person who keeps encouraging me to pick myself up, refocus and make my father proud.

“I can’t say that I’m fully recovered, but I’ve finally gained the courage to stand in front of people again. When I lost my father, I lost my confidence. I felt like the world was crumbling and that I’m now alone,” he said.

“I felt like I no longer had the strength to dominate the stage and give people a worthwhile performance,” he said.

Turning to the Sanganai/Hlanganani performance, Mzoe7 said he was awed by how the crowd responded to his entry on stage when he joined Msiz’Kay.

“When I jumped on stage to join Msiz’kay to perform Ngawuzw’umoya wami, people showed love. It was at that point that I felt my confidence rebuilding. I want to thank the X Studios family for having my back till this point where I can finally say that Mzoe7 is back in the game.”

Meanwhile, the artiste said, for now, fans can follow him on ZTN Prime reality series, Days at Ekasi Season 2 which recently started airing adding that his one-man show is on the cards. – @SeehYvonne
