NAAZ to hold middle and long-distance coaching course

SIXTEEN middle and long-distance coaches will have a chance to upgrade themselves when the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe host a Level Two course in December, in Bulawayo.

The course is scheduled for December 10 to 17 and will be facilitated by Karl Günter Lange, who. NAAZ president Tendai Tagara confirmed the development and said 13 slots have already been taken.

“The World Athletics have appointed the top athletics lecturer Mr Gunter to run the 10-17 December 2021 in Zimbabwe.

“We are happy with preparations. We are to train 16 top middle and long distance coaches. So far 13 slots have been grabbed with interest from Botswana and Zambia and Tanzania.

“This is the first time the level 2 middle and long distance will be held in Zimbabwe. I was very happy when we received the appointments of Mr Gunter.

“He is the person who has turned the Ugandan athletics. With his busy schedule we are working on how he can meet our general coaches. The international course will take place in Bulawayo,” said Tagara.
