EAGLE Life Assembly’s Prophet Blessing Chiza said France-based AS Nancy player Marvellous Nakamba is likely to play in Spain or Italy.
Nakamba attended an Eagle Life church service on Sunday to present his jersey to Chiza, who he said has been instrumental to his success through prayers.
The former Highlanders and Bantu Rovers FC midfielder has been in France for the past two years with League 2 outfit AS Nancy. However, he was restricted to the reserves until towards the end of the just-ended season when he started commanding a regular place in the first team.
“I would like to thank Prophet Chiza, for his blessings and prayers. I have managed to turn into a professional player and also to play for the first team for the first time.
“In my first year in France, I was playing in the reserves, but I came back home for holiday and my friend Ozias Zibande took me to church and the prophet prayed for me. He kept calling me even after I returned to Europe. Each time he told me to believe and things have really changed for me. I have been playing good football and breaking into the first team, everyone has been real shocked by the way I have improved. I would like to thank God for the blessings,” Nakamba said.
Prophet Chiza said this was just the beginning for the youngster who is yet to achieve greatness in European football.
“This is just the beginning, you are going to other bigger teams, I see God raising you. He is going to take you to Belgium but you are destined for Spain where no Zimbabwean has ever been to and I also see you playing in Italy,” said Chiza.
Nakamba said with God nothing is impossible and promised to keep working hard to get where he is destined.
“Nothing is impossible, it’s every player’s dream to play in Spain or Italy but for now I will concentrate on playing and improving as a player. I have had a good season and I hope I will continue to help my team to gain promotion,” he said.
The AS Nancy midfielder dismissed calls for church leaders to stay away from football.
“God is everywhere even in soccer, so it’s good because through Prophet Chiza many players now know God,” said the France-based player.
Highlanders’ Kuda Mahachi, Knox Mutizwa, Zibande, Peter Moyo and Milton Ncube, are among those that have graced Eagle Life Assembly Church.
Chiza is famous for predicting a big win for Bosso in the Mbada Diamonds Cup final last season.
This year the prophet has predicted that Highlanders will win the league title.
