NAKAMBA’S LUTON ON SHOPPING SPREE

MARVELOUS Nakamba’s Luton Town have been on a signing spree during this window but boss Matt Bloomfield says he isn’t looking to ‘rip up’ the work that has gone before him.

He says he is searching for  the right balance of experience and youth in his Hatters squad in this transfer window.

Luton have made their eighth signing of the transfer window, with Lasse Nordas signed from Tromso for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old striker is a Norway Under-21 international.

“Lasse’s a really exciting signing for us, with the potential that he brings as well as goals at the top of the pitch,” said Hatters boss Bloomfield. He comes really highly regarded, but Lasse is someone who already has some good experience so he’s got good pedigree and knows where the back of the net is.

“He’s an U21 international and has played European football, but this is his off-season, so we’ve got to be careful with him and build him up slowly.

“Lasse’s an international teammate of Thelo [Aasgaard] too, so that will help him settle. They’re the future of Norwegian football and for us too.”

Bloomfield also swooped for Kal Naismith and Josh Bowler, the slightly older pair penning loan deals from fellow Championship outfit Bristol City and Premier League side Nottingham Forest respectively.

Luton Town had already brought in Middlesbrough’s Isaiah Jones and youngster Christ Makosso from Belgian top flight club RWD Molenbeek.

With Luton needing to move some players on, both Victor Moses and Cauley Woodrow are two who could well depart, with centre half Tom Holmes and long-serving midfield Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu also possibly exiting.

It means Luton’s squad could have a new-look feel to it as they battle to avoid relegation to League One in the second half of the campaign. — H-Metro Sport/Luton Town.
