POLICE in Gweru are investigating a suspected murder case in which an unidentified man was found dead with the body naked at Triangle Farm near Shangani along the Gweru-Bulawayo highway. Police spokesperson for Midlands Province Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the body was found by Mr Godfrey Mushinge and Mr Nkosiyabo Ncube who were putting a fence at the farm.
“The body was found naked in an advanced state of decomposition. The man’s clothes were some metres away from where the body was lying,” said Insp Mahoko.
He said it is estimated that the man could have been in his late 50s.
The body was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
Insp Mahoko appealed to members of the public who might be missing a relative to approach any nearest police station so that they could assist the police in identifying the body.
In another incident, a 74-year-old man from Gokwe North was found dead with his body floating in a pool along Kana River.
Insp Mahoko said the body was discovered by a juvenile who was looking for cattle on Friday last week.
