Zimbabwe’s stand at Africa’s Travel Indaba, which ended last Thursday in Durban, South Africa, was a hive of activity with the national fabric a major attraction.
Tourism industry business people and Government officials wore the national fabric, drawing the attention of those who visited the stand.
Tourism and Hospitality Industry Deputy Minister Tongai Mnangagwa praised Zimbabweans for embracing the national fabric regardless of their differences.
“It is such a beautiful sight to see the Zimbabwe stand adorned with the national fabric that we are wearing,” he said.
“This is a myth buster that the fabric is a Zanu PF fabric. It also shows that it is our national fabric and our identity.
“Undoubtedly, this is testament that Zimbabweans are moving as one with a mutuality of purpose to build and celebrate the country.”
Deputy Minister Mnangagwa said visitors to the Zimbabwe stand admired the national fabric.
The national fabric is one of First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa’s initiatives to instil national pride in the people.
“The national fabric brings us together and we are one Zimbabwe, not only at the stand, but beyond. It is making quite a statement here at Indaba,” he said
