ZIFA will this week announce full technical teams for national sides of both men and women from the Under-13 to the senior national teams.
The national football association last week disbanded the senior national team while head coach Ian Gorowa threw in the towel after failing to guide the Warriors to the group stages of the Africa Nations Cup qualifiers whose finals will be held in Morocco next year.
The Mighty Warriors were also booted out of the qualifiers for the African Women’s Championship to be staged in Namibia.
“Zifa will make an announcement of its full list of coaches from the Under-13 to the senior national team after the holidays,” said the Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela.
With no major senior national teams’ tournament coming up anytime soon, priority will be in the Under-23s who will soon be engaging in Olympic qualifiers.
The journey starts in earnest in February next year with the youngsters first having to qualify for the Caf Under-23 Championship that will be held in the Democratic Republic of Congo in December 2015.
Dynamos’ history making coach Callisto Pasuwa leads the race for the Under-23 coach’s job with the rumour mill saying Hwange’s Nation Dube and the yet to be beaten ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka set to assist him.
Chaminuka’s goalkeepers’ coach Tembo Chumba leads the race for the goalkeepers’ coach while Bosso’s Peter Nkomo might be roped in as the senior national team goalkeepers’ coach.
