She said a specialist at Medical Centre in the city told her that the operation will cost her about $2 000.
Ndlovu’s ankle was fractured and twisted and the operation is meant to reset the bones after two plaster treatments failed to correct the injury.
Ndlovu, a top striker who has been involved in the national team since 2003, was the national league’s top scorer last season with 22 goals after playing only six games before her injury. She is a talent that cannot be allowed to go to waste as the country needs her.
She was injured in training when a late tackle caught her on the ankle. Ndlovu said her club has been assisting her financially since the injury.
Speaking of her ordeal yesterday, the striker said it had been tough coming to terms with the injury as she can no longer take part in the game she loves.
“It is so painful to be sidelined. What is worse is that I am in physical pain because of the injury” she said.
Ndlovu said she hoped one day she will be back in the field of play and appealed to well wishers to assist with funding so she could undergo the corrective surgery.
All well wishers can contact New Orleans director Khanyiso Mafika Bhebhe on 0773194955.
Ndlovu walks with the aid of crutches.
She is currently helping out as one of the coaches at New Orleans.
