NATIONAL Constitutional Assembly presidential candidate, Professor Lovemore Madhuku, yesterday said his party will craft a new constitution if he wins the August 23 harmonised general elections.
The new constitution to be crafted, said Prof Madhuku, would be in line with the people’s needs and aspirations.
He was speaking during a campaign rally in Goromonzi North Constituency in Mashonaland East Province attended by about 100 supporters.
“The constitution is the basis of our problems. The NCA is in politics to ensure that Zimbabwe has a constitution which speaks to the needs of the people.
“We are different from other political parties in that we are the only party that has realised that we have a bad constitution. All of you must go and tell others about the beauty of the NCA,” he said.
Prof Madhuku said the NCA will offer free education and health services once they sweep to power on August 23.
“We are going to make sure that free education and health becomes a reality when we form the government,” he said.
The rally was punctuated by song and dance, with supporters expressing confidence that their party will win the election.
