DYNAMOS coach Tonderai Ndiraya has been linked with a move to Premiership newboys Simba Bhora next season.
The ambitious Shamva-based side is reported to be monitoring the former midfielder with the hope of reinforcing their technical department that is currently led by Arthur Tutani.
Simba Bhora, who have signed a number of ex-Premiership players that helped them win the ZIFA Northern Region Division One league and secure the promotion ticket, are looking to make an impact in the topflight league.
Efforts to get a comment from the club’s leadership yesterday were fruitless.
But what is certain is that Ndiraya’s contract with the Glamour Boys is set to expire at the end of next month and he is yet to discuss his future.
Sources said he is unlikely to renew as it emerged that the Glamour Boys’ leadership was divided over retaining his services after losing the Premiership title race to FC Platinum.
Ndiraya, though, has done remarkably well in transforming Dynamos, who fought relegation in 2018 before finishing ninth in 2019.
He has managed to turn DeMbare into a team capable of challenging for honours in his first full season in charge.
But given the massive recruitment that was recently backed financially by energy giant, Sakunda Holdings, some would judge his season as a disappointment.
DeMbare are now angling for a second place finish after their hopes for the title went up in smoke two weeks ago when FC Platinum were confirmed champions after amassing an unassailable tally.
There has been pressure, especially from a section of disillusioned fans to sack the coach, but Dynamos chairman Isaiah Mupfurutsa told The Herald recently that they would not make a rash decision.
“We have a contract with him and we cannot just chase him away like that,” he said then.
“After all, he has done very well under the circumstances. He is in his first full season in charge of the team.
“But look at where he is at the moment. He has proven that if given enough time he can transform the team.
“What we want to avoid is whereby we fire a coach who has shown a lot of potential. We have to let him build his philosophy and we see what he can achieve with the team.
“We should run football the modern way. Why can’t we give the coach enough time and see what happens.”
