THE long wait is over for fans of Charles Ndebele and Ndolwane Super Sounds Amangwe Part 1 as he has released his second album as a solo artiste.

The album, Impendulo which has six tracks, has been released just in time for the festive season.

Ndebele was part of trailblazing group Ndolwane Super Sounds with Martin Sibanda and the duo split in 2011. Ndebele then formed Amangwe Part 1.

Ndebele last released an album three years ago called Azibuye Emasimini that was well received by fans.

Impendulo was released in South Africa and fans in Zimbabwe can buy the album from Zimbabwe Music Company outlets throughout the country.

Speaking from his Johannesburg base, Ndebele said producing the album was not a stroll in the park.

“Producing the album was difficult because it involved huge costs,” said Ndebele.

He urged fans not to pirate his album so that he is able to realise some cash from his project to enable him to produce more quality tracks as well as buy equipment.

“Piracy is bad and we urge the fans to buy original albums so that as musicians we benefit from our works,” said Ndebele.

Ndebele had earlier named the album Induku meaning knobkerrie but had to change it to Impendulo because some people were saying he had used a knobkerrie, which he carries on the sleeve, to beat up his rivals.

In this album Ndebele proves that he is a song writer of repute with the opening track Zimbabwe which recounts the days of colonial era and the injustices that were meted out on blacks by what he calls “Amabhunu”, the whites. He narrates, for example, that there was a dog and a cattle tax that black people were forced to pay and praises the heroes who liberated the country.
