MPUMALANGA Black Aces head coach Clive Barker has said that Warriors striker Tendai Ndoro is his major weapon.
He defended his substitution of the player against Partson Jaure, Washington Arubi and Denver Mukamba’s Pretoria University last weekend as a tactical move.
“Ndoro is a quality striker who knows well how to position himself in the box and is very strong especially with the ball.
“He’s such a striker that makes the team tick. His presence gives opponents big problems,” said Barker.
“Our ultimate goal is to end the season in a better position but I don’t want to give my players unnecessary pressure, we’ve to take each game as it comes,” he said.
The Zimbabwe international striker is the team’s top goal scorer with six and is not far from the Absa Premiership top marksman Cuthbert Malajila who has eight.
The former Chicken Inn striker believes he can win the Golden Boot award if he continues banging in the goals.
Barker said his team has good players who can deliver and make the people of Mpumalanga proud. They also still have the Nedbank Cup to play for.
Ndoro’s contract with Black Aces ends in June and he is determined to renew it.
Last season Ndoro scored seven goals after playing a handful of games.
