ZIMBABWE international forward Tendai Ndoro yesterday completed his move to Saudi Arabia after passing his medical and was unveiled by his new team.

The gangly forward, who left South African giants Orlando Pirates, was unveiled by Saudi club Al Wehda (Mecca) yesterday.

Ndoro is set to be joined in Saudi Arabia by his fellow countryman Abbas Amidu.

The Warriors will be missing in action when the 2018 World Cup qualifiers get underway, but to compensate for their inactivity ZIFA are organising a friendly match for the national team.

However, skipper Knowledge Musona and his teammates will only be in action in the first weekend of October, which is a FIFA international date.

The national team was last in action on June 11 when they beat Liberia 3-0 in the AFCON qualifiers.

With the AFCON qualifiers resuming in March next year, the Warriors will have to make use of the FIFA dates for friendly matches to remain in shape.

And yesterday, ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela, said they have received a few requests from teams for the October friendly.

“We got requests from some countries that want to play us and we are working on it, but at the moment we cannot divulge the countries that want to play against us,” he said.

“We can only reveal that in due course.’’

The Herald understands that Iran have offered to play the Warriors in an international friendly.

Other countries who also want to play the Warriors include Morocco and two European nations.

UK-based Warriors fan, Marshall Gore, who has been working to secure the services of a number of players with Zimbabwean links, based in Europe, to play for the national team, has been arranging the friendly matches.

Gwesela said ZIFA will soon release the details around the national team match against Barcelona Legends.

ZIFA are working with the Ministry of Sport and Recreation on the modalities of the game.

Although the ministry and private players are working on the funding structure that will bring the Barcelona Legends here on the first week of November, the mother body will address all the technical matters and determine which national team will feature in that game.
