NetOne, Kazembe donate

Zanu-PF chairman for Mashonaland Central Province Cde Kazembe Kazembe has said his province is heeding Government calls to prioritise access to good health by opening more clinics, as well as improving medical facilities. He said this at a ceremony at which major mobile network provider — Net One — handed over 50 blankets and a wheelchair to Concession Hospital at the weekend.

Cde Kazembe also donated 100 tonnes of maize to the health institution.
“I want to thank NetOne for coming to the rescue of patients here,” he said. “I was born at this hospital and my target is to have a clinic in each and every ward in this constituency.

“Currently, we have made progress in places like Hota, Sandringham and Crainham.”
Speaking at the same event, NetOne representative Dr Eldrette Shereni said her organisation made the donation as a way of ploughing back to the community.

“This is part of our philanthropic project that we undertake as an organisation to assist communities and so far we have given blankets and bunker beds, among other things, to an orphanage in Gweru,” she said.

“At the same time we have engaged the albino community on more sustainable projects which will assist them in securing their special needs.”

The Mazowe West community appealed to the Government and the private sector to hire a dentist at the hospital to enhance their access to dental care and treatment at a facility closer to them.

People in the area have to endure long and expensive trips to Rosa in Chiweshe and Bindura Hospital to access dental care services.
