INTERNATIONAL Lenovo Mobile technology manufacturer has partnered mobile operator NetOne in an arrangement which will see the firm open 28 shops throughout the country which will sell its mobile products.
As part of the arrangement Lenovo products will be sold in NetOne shops, with the pioneering shop being Harare followed by other major cities like Bulawayo, Mutare and Gweru.
In an interview with The Herald Business, Lenovo Mobile Zimbabwe sales manager Percy Makina, said the setting up of shop by his company in Zimbabwe shows the confidence they have in the local economy.
Mr Makina said there was huge potential for economic growth in the country.
“This is a sign that as an international manufacturer we have confidence in the economy and there is a lot of potential for economic boom in the country.
“We are positive that this partnership will go a long way in complementing Government efforts to create employment and attract investment,” he said.
NetOne sales manager Victor Matina, said the partnership will open more opportunities for economic growth.
He said it will create more possibilities for growth within the industry and more competition which is good for consumers.
“We are excited about this arrangement because this the beginning of greater things,” he said.
Lenovo Mobile is one of the fast growing mobile phone manufacturers around the globe.
It operates in 27 African countries with an annual revenue base of $54 billion.
